Bamboo Clothing
Bamboo is a unique and exquisite fabric unlike anything we’ve carried in the past. Bamboo production leaves virtually no damage to the soil in which it is farmed, and it is one of the most sustainable renewable resources available. It has a surprisingly luxurious feel and it has excellent wicking properties, which is ideal for warm summer days.

How is Bamboo fabric made?

Bamboo fabric is a natural textile made from the pulp of the bamboo grass. Bamboo fibre is made by pulping the bamboo grass until it separates into thin threads of fibre, which can be spun and dyed for weaving into cloth. Bamboo fibre resembles cotton in its un-spun form, a puffball of light, airy fibers.

Benefits of Bamboo clothing:

Sustainable - Bamboo is a very quick growing grass and does not usually require the use of pesticides and herbicides to thrive. As a result, plantations can easily be kept organic and replenished yearly. The process of making unbleached bamboo fibre- is very light on chemicals that could potentially harm the environment.

Durable – Bamboo fabric retains many of the properties it has as a plant – including being lightweight and durable.

Water Absorbent - Bamboo is highly water absorbent, able to take up three times its weight in water. This translates to an excellent wicking ability that will pull moisture away from the skin so that it can evaporate.

Antibacterial – Bamboo fibre helps to reduce bacteria that thrive on clothing and cause unpleasant odors. It can also kill odor-causing bacteria that live on human skin.

Very Soft – Bamboo fibre can be worn directly next to the skin. Many people who experience allergic reactions to other fibres do not complain of this issue with bamboo. The fibre is naturally smooth and round without chemical treatment.

Insulating - Bamboo fabric has insulating properties and will keep the wearer cooler in summer and warmer in winter.
