Hemp is nature's miracle fibre. It has been harvested by humans for millennia and used for everything from paper and rope to bridges, automobile parts, fuels, food, cosmetics, clothing and more. As a fabric it is strong, comfortable and is an eco-powerhouse.
How is Hemp fabric made?
Hemp fabric is a natural textile made from the bast fibres found in the stem of the hemp plant. The long fibres are taken and spun or woven into fabric. Most of our hemp clothing is blended with cotton to give it a soft, comfortable feel. Hemp fibre resembles linen, as the production process is similar.

Benefits of Hemp clothing:
● Durable - Hemp is the strongest natural fibre used in clothing. It lasts four times longer than cotton clothing. As well, hemp softens with each wash making it more comfortable with age without fibre degradation.
● Chemical Free – Hemp is grown without the use of herbicides and pesticides.
● Sustainable - A field of hemp can be utilized twice a year. By comparison, a tree once cut needs 15-20 years to come back. Hemp drops leaves constantly during the growing season replenishing the soil of nutrients as opposed to cotton, which depletes the earth of its nutrients.
● Antibacterial – Hemp has better anti-bacterial properties than any other natural fibre, making it extremely resistant to mold, mildew and rot. It is excellent for outdoor activities and travel, as it does not hold odours.
● Breathable – Hemp is a highly breathable fabric that wicks moisture away from the body.
● UV resistant - Hemp provides more UV sun protection than any other natural fibre. Our hemp clothing is rated at UPF45+ and UPF50+.
● Insulating – Hemp helps you stay cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter as it adapts to your body temperature.
